Melbourne Cup + Animal Activists

Man Animal Activists are so annoying. Over sensationalize everything.

Both horses from this year’s MC are not in any danger! One the winner sustained a cut in his mouth vet checked perfectly fine.

The one that came last had a bit of what is called Exercise-Induced Pulmonary Hemorrhage (EIPH). This one was seen later in his stable later nibbling on grass and actually looking quite good after. I believe the jockey pulled the horse up during the race to stop him from getting too exhausted.

A lot of the people that work in industry do love the horses and care for them. Jockeys, trainers, owners (some), strapers, stable hands whom are very close to the horses.

Not saying some form of cruelty doesn’t exist (it might do) but without substantial evidence of it how do we know?

yes we have lost some horses over the years in the Melb Cup, some could have been prevented sure. But to say humans are cruel forcing these animals to race is not quite correct. Horse Racing has been a sport for YEARS dating back a long long time. Thoroughbreds are breed to race they are the sporting athletes of the horse racing world.

I wish Animal Activists would actually pay attention to facts before making sensationalists claims about an industry they probably know 0 about and just go off what they see or get told.
