Destiny -short look

Armored mage in purple attire releasing swirling purple magical energy in a ruined industrial landscape
A futuristic armored mage conjures glowing purple energy in a post-apocalyptic setting

I have no clue how this is going to unfold; but I think I may be inspired to write a complete different fan fic. It’s rare I venture out of the usual stuff but recently something struck a chord so I thought I might give it a shot.
Basically I’ve been playing the FPS game Destiny a lot since I got the game in September, now I never thought too much about it because its a game but alas like any good or semi-good author inspiration came. The storyline that was developed for the game has potential and I enjoyed it, but I guess in some ways it went a bit unfair-filled. All we know really is guardians have been brought back by the Traveller to help push back an evil darkness so these guardians are out there fighting the good fight.
Though, going into battle is lonely and the game always makes it feel that way in its storyline despite the game’s ability to let you play and socialise with others. So it got me thinking; what if we dig into the story and find our own? How would these guardians truly react on the planets of Earth, Moon, Venus and Mars when they can see each other; talk to each other and battle. Also what are their relationships to their fellow guardians and people they help serve? So many questions and so many possibilities.
After all; if you take away the gaming element of this deep at its core this is a story of people and even with super abilities, being at war etc they are down right people with emotions, thoughts and a will. Let’s go and find out much more about them and their Fireteam. I’m game. Are you?

What I’ve got so far are two characters, one is a human Warlock, the second is an exo Hunter. I haven’t figured which root is best for these two so here’s what I’m thinking so far:
– Two best friends as kids whom were eventually separated when the duty of being a guardian called them away
– Individuals drawn together by one common goal
– A couple who’s difference keep them apart though eventually re-united because of their duty.
See all three have extremely good potential for this I just don’t know which one is going to work out best. Argh. I hate that. I suppose I can try all three and then see where it leads me but hmm….I keep looking at them and comparing them and so far 1 & 2 stick out and even a friend of mine thinks the same so…will see. The problem I have with the 1st one is there’s a lot of back story I need to put into it and I wonder if I’ve got that much time for it, where as the second can go with the flow more. Decisions decisions. Let me see what I can rustle up!!
___ its now 1:11am and I’m working on the first chapter trying to see where it leads me. There’s a few things I’m trying to fit in, and figure out if it works. Well here is what I have:

Never Lonely

Chapter 1She leaned her elbows against the railing starring aimless out over the city below. From up here everything looked peaceful. The sun was just starting to slip behind the clouds as the cool evening breeze swept through. All around her the tower was a buzz of activity. Ships came to dock as others departed while the postmaster was continuously handing out mail and cryptarch Master Rahool was already busy with his decoding of endgrams. Guardians of all ranks, classes and races ran from point to point getting themselves geared up and ready to head out on another fight.            ‘I don’t get it,’ she sighed.            ‘Get what?’ Ghost asked.            ‘Well, the speaker said we’re supposed to join the fight, join these other guardians. Help them push back this evil, this darkness together,’ she answered.            ‘Yes. We are all working together in hopes of returning life to its former glory. That is why you and all these guardians were brought back. It is why you were chosen.’ Ghost replied she rolled her eyes at it.            ‘I know that thank you. What I mean is, it’s a little hard to work with all these people all of a sudden when I don’t know anybody. Look at them I sure don’t think they are up for some friendly chit chat they even have their own little groups.’ She answered nodding over to their right at a group of four males two were definitely human one with brown short curls his companion had a mix of red highlights in his black hair, while the other two were a little outwardly different. One had much paler looking skin that almost looked like he was glowing and sporting a bright blue mo-hawk hairstyle and the fourth appeared more like a robot although not in the traditional sense his appearance was somewhere between the pale-skinned man and the humans. His glowing white eyes gave away his identity, as did the lack of hair and radar-shaped ears.
‘Trust takes time to build out here you can’t trust everyone. Some guardians have lost themselves in the battle and fallen to the wayside. Despite what you see its rare guardians fight together. From time to time they help each other out but it is and always has been a lonely battle.’
