You know lately I have been noticing a trend.
A trend that doesn’t really make sense to me.
people will sometimes come across a book, movie sports teams, player, person….etc and they will just not like them. This is human nature. There are some things in life we will gravitate towards because it interests us. But; for others that may not be the case, what we are interested din someone else will not. And that is OK.
Hate is probably the wrong word to use so let us go with Dislike. It is fine to dislike something. It is fine to not fall into the idea that we need to like everything given to us. We do not have to be part of the bigger society because we are all individuals. If every single person on this planet agreed with every single thing, and is positive 24/7 do you know how BORING that would be? Very!!
Now, I for one am not saying that hate or dislike is better. No, no. What I am saying though; is that Liking and Disliking, Good, Bad, Hate and Love are all connected. You have one you will always have the other. It is the typical Ying and Yang thing. You do not want all positivity and all negativity. They each balance the other out. Yes in sone circumstances one might dominate the other Ala more negativity appears than positivity. It happens but this doesn’t change the general narrative of it.
So, how do we put this into a better context….?
Games. Gaming seems to be the best way to further explain it. ….let us go with….Warframe. You may or may not have heard of this game. It’s one of those typical online multiplayer styled games. Anyway, it does require a lot of ‘grinding’ and for some players they love it, while for others it is a chore. So like everything else Warfare has its fair share of ‘hate’ and ‘love’ from all gamers and that is fair. Some are attracted to it, some are not. Again as I have been talking about, this is normal. Personally, I have played the game and initially I didn’t mind it; but I didn’t love it either. For me, the game was just OK. Had parts which were enjoyable, and then hard parts that just annoyed me. In the end, the bits that annoyed me far out weighed the bits that didn’t and I just stopped playing.
Now, for a sports version this, but I will pick on a team rather than a sport, as whole because I think it makes a bit more sense!
The spots team I’m going to pick is from the NHL and it’s gotta be…the Edmonton Oilers! haha. What a team to pick. Now; they are one of a handful of Canadian teams. And for me, they are the ‘decent’ one. I feel like they appeal more to fans (hey this is just my opinion and view!) compared to the likes of the Jets, (although to be fair they are quite likeable too), Senators, Habs and Leafs. These other teams for mine have more hate directed at them compared to the Oilers. At least that is what it feels like to me. I could very well be wrong (and am happy to be if someone wants to prove me wrong). You compare them to the likes of the Leafs; and I can tell you there is a lot; and I mean A LOT of hate for the Leafs, more than there is for the Oilers.
You get the point I’m making with this!
