So a few quick fire thoughts on the F1 race in China yesterday.
- Firstly congrats to young Kimi on his first ever F1 Grand Prix win. Amazing stuff for such a young guy @ 19years of age. He did it easy without trouble. No challengers really and having the car that Mercedes has for this season; he had little issues. This kid has some talent, and we’ve seen it in bits and pieces last year. Too early to say he’s gonna reach greatness. Time will tell. Let’s hope he learns from this great win and continues on!
- There has been a lot of talk about this generation of F1 cars, and opinions are very split on it; more on the negative than the positive especially for the drivers. A small group love it, the bigger group are grumpy. The one thing I noticed from this race and the Melbourne one is the dangers the drivers are taking just to beat each other. I’m worried we may see a very serious accident sooner rather than later.
- Ferrari are looking very exciting this year! The last few years has been difficult for this team but they may have finally found something that makes them more competitive and pushing others. Very cool to see. It’s been a long time coming for the flying horse but we might be seeing glimpses of their return to glory soon enough.
- Oscar’s nightmare. I cannont believe the shitty luck he has had two races in a row. It is not like he’s at fault! Absolutely not and I feel for him. I, like probably many fans were looking forward to him having a better year than last year. But….that’s IF he can even start a race!
- The flilpside of Oscar’s luck is that of Norris. With his less than impressive showing from Australia and now a DNS it has to be questioned if his championship win last year really was legit. I mean, when you have a chance to look back on the way things unfolded for both drivers it does start to make you wonder ….. was Oscar actually properly robbed????
- Max, oh dear this week was not great. Last week wasn’t bad. He’s not having a fun time and he has made it clear this year is already getting on his nerves. Can you blame him? No. I hope he doesn’t give up though. He is…one of those guys whom can get very vocal and really let loose. There is always talk that one day (maybe closer tan we think) he will walk away from F1 for other things that is peaking his interest. While that would be sad to see; perhaps for him it might do him so good, to jsut get away from it for a few months or a year? Come back refreshed.
