The things we never did – Fic

All righty I think it’s time for e to show you one of my early Westlife-related Fan fics.

Chapter One

“Stop messing around lads! We have a lot of work to do and time is short!” snapped Pricilla Henderson with hands on hips glaring in annoyance at five guilty-looking faces. Bryan McFadden smiled cheerily at the band’s choreographer doing his best to look deeply apologetic.
“We’re sorry Prill, it’s just we are so excited about kick starting just our second big tour especially after the great time we had last year.” He answered.
“Needless to say we have been rehearsing for last hour and a half,” Nicky added. Pricilla shock her head as a small smile inched upon her lips. With a sigh she waved them away with her hand.
“Fine, fine go ahead and have a ten minute break. But when you return I want concentration and no more fooling around.” She said.
“Of course we will thank you so much! We owe you big time!” chorused the lads piling out of the dance studio. They crowded into the room right next door; with a soft plush couch made from only the best leather and two lazy boys on either side. Directly opposite is a refreshment table mainly with cold drinks and fruit.
“Ah, now this is the life.” Kian sighed collapsing onto the sofa.
“Mate scoot over I want to sit.” Shane replied giving his blonde best friend a mischievous shove. Kian eyed him furiously for a split second but just let it pass, Bryan and Nicky sat in the lazy boys. Each of the lads had a bottle of ice-cold water in hand as they relaxed. Mark didn’t want to sit even thou his legs at this very moment were aching like crazy.
“Yo Feehily. What’s up with you?” asked Bry peeking one eye open. Mark stopped his pacing to face his four band mates.
“Lads, have of you felt something more towards a girl who’s a friend?” he asked at the same time shifting uncomfortably on his feet. Shane, Kian, Nicky & Bryan swapped playful grins at one another knowingly. Three years ago Dale & Kathy Pearson brought their two daughters; (from Kathy’s previous marriage) Deborah (Debbie, Debz) the eldest and Victoria (Vickie, Vic) moved from New Zealand and out to Ireland and chronically lived right next door to Kian’s family. While Debz had her own groupie of close friends Vickie pretty much spent a great deal of time with Kian and his two close friends in Mark & Shane. From then on it was obvious something struck a firm chord with Mark & Vickie ‘cos they hit it off immediately. Like all good friends they’ve had bad spots filled with arguments, Westlife being away. Then there are the good times of constantly getting in trouble, messing around and just having a laugh. Everyone believed they’d make a perfect pair one day.
“What you on about Marky boy? You told me just a few days ago how Vickie & you are good friends and it’d always be.” Shane said.
“I know and we are its just…just since what happened last week I don’t know anymore.” Mark replied staring at the ground.
“What happened?” asked Nicky gently. Sighing Mark looked up at them again.
“Err…um…” Mark sighed.
“Come on Mark just spill it.” Nicky encouraged.
“I…we ended up sleeping together.”
“WHAT?” exploded Kian, Shane, Nicky and Bryan. They all stared at Mark with wide eyes and open mouths.
“Mate…Mark please tell me you are joking.” Nix said; however the serious look written on Mark’s face confirmed he had definitely not been joking.
“Holy crap.” Bry said when he finally managed to speak. Kian got off the couch he strolled right up to Mark; he saw a familiar look of obvious anger. Vickie usually treated Kian like a big brother after her sister moved away and he took to looking out for her a lot.
“How the fuck could you do this Mark? To Vickie for Christ sake! You know how she honestly feels about you, but did you even consider that? No, for all I know you just thought of yourself!” Kian shouted.
“Kian, calm down!” Shane ordered Kian huffed in irritation, turning on his heel he stormed out of the room mumbling under his breath.
“I’ll go and see if he’s ok.” Bryan leapt off the couch to run after Kian. Nicky and Shane looked at Mark, he kept his eyes fixed on the ground and kept on shuffling on his feet.
“You want to talk about it?” Shane asked.
“No…yes…I don’t know. It’s all a bit complicated.” Mark replied quietly.
“Have you spoken to Vickie since?”
“No.” Shane burrowed his eyebrows, a quick glance towards Nicky confirmed both their thoughts this wasn’t going to be easy.
“Then perhaps you can start by talking to her. Obviously the whole situation is tough but you can’t go on forever just ignoring each other.” Said Nicky.
“That’s if Kian is going to let me.” Mark said; it all felt worse now with Kian fuming like crazy.
“Yeah, that could be a tiny problem,” Shane agreed as he rubbed his chin deep in thought. Just then the door opened, Bryan walked back inside with Kian following.
“Ki you all right now mate?” Shane quizzed, but Kian ignored the question preferring to keep his eyes down
“Ki can’t you at least let me try to explain this?” Mark asked gently. Kian snorted as he sat down on the couch his arms folded firmly across his chest.
“I’m not the one you need to do the explaining to.” He snapped. Mark went to sit in the vacant arm chair; he slumped down into it resting his feet. Shane looked over at his friend and saw the upset look on his face.
“Nix we need to do something, we can’t have Kian and Mark angry and when Nicole and Vickie get here it could be even worse,” Shane sighed.
“I know Shay believe me I know.” Right now though he’s just as miffed of ideas as Shane
